In this tutorial, you will learn how to design and etch a photograph on a slate coaster using your Glowforge.

The slate coaster(s) referenced in the tutorial can be found here:

The Glowforge power settings for thin felt (0.01) are as follow: 245/50/1/.01 (SP/PP/PSS/FH)

It should be noted that the coaster created above was photographic in nature and, because of the subtleties, does not lend itself to good contrast in all lighting conditions. Using simple black and white designs/illustrations that do not depend on gradations will work much better and be more pleasing to the eye.

Special thanks to evansd2 and Jules from the Glowforge Community Forum for their insight when researching this project.
