Today’s freebie is a guitar slide and capo holder cut in the shape of a Gibson-style headstock. The file is composed of four layers.

In my project, I used 1/4″ oak for the back and middle layers, 1/8″ white acrylic for the binding, and 1/8″ walnut for the top layer (thick veneer). 3/8″ dowels were used for the pegs. I used standard wood glue for the adherence of the wood layers and CA glue for the binding. I sanded using 800 grit and 1000+ grit (using a damp cloth in between to raise the grain again before knocking it back down) and used a brown stain for the oak. Every thing was finished with 3-4 coats of clear lacquer. I used Command tape to stick the holder to the wall. Feel free to add holes to the SVG using your favorite vector editing program if you want to adhere it with screws.
